Where should I live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam? Should I live in Tan Binh District? I want to live in a hotel or a room or somewhere that is close enough to District 1 and close to schools I can teach English at. I want to be close to basketball, internet, Lotteria, food, people, games, learning, and all sorts of things. I want the cheapest coolest place possible. Joey Arnold

Original Oatmeal The cheaper the room the better. Around 1.000.000 VND per month is the dream. I prefer wi-fi in my room but it depends on the price. A very cheap place is worth it, even if it does not have wi-fi. The more I have to pay the more I would like it to include internet. Do they have any rooms with fridges?

Original Oatmeal Anything under 3.000.000 Vietnamese dongs (VND) would be very good I think. that is about $150 American dollars USD. That is about $5 per night. That is about 100.000 VND per night.

Original Oatmeal Binh Thanh borders District 1. So that might be the cheapest district that is closes to District 1. Yesterday, somebody showed me a room in District 1 for $300 USD per month. It came with free water, wifi, cable tv, a tub in the bathroom, balcony, air conditioning. A nice queen or king size bed.
