Today, I started thinking about this for the first time, ever. I want to put together a dictionary of one-letter-long words from as many languages as possible. Each word can only one letter, number, symbol, character, thing, item, or whatever.
A -- like the words an, the...... it describes one thing, person, place, etc....
I -- Me, myself, the person writing or talking can refer to him or herself with the word "I"
