I have some notes for you: you don't buy anything in Ben Thanh Market. this is so famous place in HCM City but it is also expensive :)

Go to District (quan) Binh Thanh where things are cheaper. Districts 1 and 3 are the most expensive. Plus, District 2 seem to be full of rich foreigners in rich apartments and houses, as well.

You can search Xôi chè Bùi Thị Xuân on Google. You can try a lot kind of sticky rice there.
