Depends on how you define those two terms. Some will say that a free society can suffice with the sacrifice of flexible speech. Others will say that you can't exactly have one without the other.

I believe that freedom of speech is really necessary in a free society. I live in Brazil. In 1964, the brazilian military forces got the power of the goverment and put down all the liberties the people had. Nobody could say bad things on radio, TV, eve

Write, "I'm thankful that I was born at this age." Or you can write, "I'm thankful I wasn't born back then."

Yes, it's necessary, since that used intelligently. Sometimes we have different opinions about something and the most people can't understand our position and turn against us.
Maybe the best tool that we have at our hands is the internet, but at the

there has been considerable debate, if a country doesnt care abt freedom of speech, its goverment will be likely to be toppled easily, and that goverment will be in a dangerous position if he doesnt know what his people think and feel ... the goverment
s who muzzle freedom of speech run a risk of pushing their people to rebel or to behave destructively... of course, no freedom means no political actions,no resistance to injustice, and oppresstion is possible... For me, freedom is very important as well as freedom of speech which should be protected .

"There has been considerable debate." People do not say it the other way. "It has been severely debated..." Remember the past-tense for the word "Debate" is the word "Debated."

There needs to be some pauses between the different thoughts. The commas are used as breaks to separate the different clauses.
Joy Dinh, you need to be more open-minded. Do not be so stubborn. You should listen to the advice of native English speaking teachers like me.
You should not separate yourself from the group. You should be transparent enough to accept corrections, reproof, discipline, enlightenment, that can accelerate and advance your skills in life.
It is better to be life-long learners. It is more suitable to take in criticism and to listen to feedback, comments, messages, ideas; that is even when some pills are tougher to swallow at times.
Many times, even native English teachers ignore the technically and the details that goes into commas.
Commas are often very commonly ignored and looked past. English speakers may even argue between whether commas are necessary at times.
Often times, commas make things sound better, that is even if the commas are not always technically, exactly, and specifically required.
Remember that you are not exactly a native English speaker.
Remember that I am absolutely a pure-breed native English speaker from the United States.
I am also a professional writer. I've been writing for the past 20 years in English.
I have been writing and speaking in English for the past decade in front of large audiences.
In the United States, I would even correct other native English speakers.
We all make mistakes.
I make mistakes as well.
You can always correct my mistakes.
Even as a native English speaker.
Even as a native English teacher.
I will keep myself open to that.
