Cheapest Rooms? Where?

    • Suong Dinh There r many around here, but not near dis. 1, about 12km far away, it takes about 45 min by bus
    • Original Oatmeal There is the Budget Hostel in District 1 which goes around $90.000 VND per night. You have to share with others. There are other hotels that cost more than that to around 300.000 per night. I would rather not go for something more than that. 90.000 is less than $5 USD. 300.000 is about $15. Plus, 100.000 VND per night equals to about 3.000.000 VND per month ($150 USD per month). I may go for an apartment room. I am hoping for an apartment or hotel for anything less than 10.000.000 VND per month. That is about $500 USD per month.

    • Ichada Pham With 4 million VND per month, you can have a small house That is 30m2 x 2 (2 floor) at Binh Thanh dist (near Hang Xanh Roundabout). There are a bed room, a kitchen and a toilet room. If you want, I will ask our hostess. (She have 3 houses like that and we are staying one)

    • Ichada Pham With 2.mil per month, You just have a spot (1 room for life and a toilet room) - if you want stay near center. If you want have a house, you can find a house in Dist 9, Dist 4, Thu Duc Dist, Binh Tan dist... It's far for Dist 1. So, you must spend about 30m or 1 h to go to center by motocycle.

    • Ichada Pham I'm not sure. But you can find better if you know what dist do you want to life and how much you can pay per month. If you have more money, you will have a house. If not, you can find a spot. I think like Gordon, about ~2 mil VND

The greedy hand of government and ignorance have slowly eroded the Nation our Founding Fathers fought to create. Tariffs (Import & Export taxes) were the main source of all Federal revenue until 1914. When the people were prosperous (and business thrived) imports and exports increased, and so did government income. Government income was determined by the prosperity of the people! However, in 1913 the federal income tax was implemented to help finance WWI. At that time, the marginal tax rate was 1% on income of $0 to $20,000, 2% on income of $20,000 to $50,000, 3% on income of $50,000 to $75,000, and so on. BUT, when WWI was over,...they simply "forgot" to repeal income tax. Then, the real problems started... The modern estate tax was implemented in 1916 and the gift tax came about in 1924. Corporate Income taxes were first enacted in 1909, and shortly after, the federal income tax in 1913. The 1920s and '30s saw the creation of multiple taxes. Sales taxes were enacted first in West Virginia in 1921, then in 11 more states by 1933, and 18 more states by 1940. As of 2010, Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon are the only states without a sales tax. President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act in 1935 and Social Security taxes were first collected in January 1937. Sales taxes, gasoline taxes, cigarette and alcohol taxes, energy taxes, aviation taxes, property taxes, capital gains taxes, telecommunications taxes, federal and state income taxes,..it's almost never-ending. The Tax Foundation calculated that in 2009, Americans on average had to work through April 11 just to earn the amount of money they would pay in taxes over the course of the year, better known as Tax Freedom Day (this year it's on April 18th) Today, Americans pay some of the highest taxes in the World.

    What kind of cell phone should I get? What kind of phone plan should I get? I bought a $20 American currency dollars money USD (400.000 Vietnamese dongs money VND) phone in HCM, Vietnam. It broke. My phone broke. I can't hear people when they call.
