Torah Salvation
Missing The Point
Torah Salvation:
By Joey Arnold
10PM: Wed: 2010.05.19:
This debate at Bible Study missed key principles.
Back around 6PM was our group study through the life of the historical Jesus from around two thousand years ago.
David Sheppard squirted right in some pure devotion!
Here at this Salvation Army's Moore Street Corps (church) was contrast.
Bud, one of the elders of that church, ran right into this debate just last week.
This Wednesday was part two for them.
But not really part two for me or David.
Soteriology is the study to salvation.
Salvation includes:
1. Justification
2. Sanctification
3. Glorification
Off Topic
We weren't fully connected.
Bud was focused on justification.
David was focused on sanctification.
Justification deals with getting saved.
Sanctifications deals with being saved.
(Or with staying saved)
Within the realm to justification (Romans 6:23), Bud emphasized how sanctification cannot save us. In other words, how following the law cannot get us into Heaven. David agreed but that is not the point to the heart of the matter.
Within the realm to sanctification (1 John 4:19), David Sheppard emphasized on walking the talk or on really loving God by following His commands!
The issue is not on if we are to.
The issue really is on how we are to.
I have said that before so many times.
I wish I could emphasize on the how some more.
The debate between David and Bud was also moreover on the Sabbath and/or the Lord's Day. Those two things clearly are two different things.
Dispensations.
I dare not throw out this word. But this word speaks of programs. God does not change but then again God may change his clothes or he may change the game or change the program.
In other words, principles stay but programs adapt.
But that is a hard thing to explain.
I wish to communicate these things someday.
I first ran across David concerning these matters back in the Summer 2007!
Another related topic to all of this is on whether or not one can lose their salvation. Your answer may enhance or distort your perspective on God!
All of these matters may also destroy or prolong your life!
