    Why are the phones so expensive in Vietnam? I do not understand why they are allowed to monopolize the sales and stress the supply and demand of these products. The prices are not internationally balanced nor fair. I need help with picking the right phone to buy. I have been going to all these mobile phone shops in Saigon and I cannot figure out what to buy. I need to buy a phone with the longest battery life. I need to buy the cheapest phone out there that is still an awesome phone at the same time. I can find phones for half the price and doubled the quality in the United States. Joey Arnold

    People in Vietnam proudly say that the prices for products in Vietnam are doubled their international equivalence due to their level of higher-then-America quality in them, but the opposite is actually true. You can buy things of greater quality for half the price in America many times. I need people to help me buy a good phone and laptop in Vietnam. I have a hard time knowing how to make these decisions.

    That U.N. team's report recommended that North Korean farmers be allowed to sell or barter their surplus food at market, rather than turn their excess over to the state. Such incentives should encourage farmers to boost production, according to the joint report last year from the World Food Program and U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization.

    But the survey also made clear that the problems that have long kept North Koreans undernourished remain: insufficient and inefficient tractors and chronic shortages of fuel, spare parts and tires necessary to run them.

    Agriculture is North Korea's lifeblood, contributing a quarter of the nation's economy and engaging a third of the population. But many northern farms rely on ox and manual labor because there aren't enough tractors and equipment to go around. Foreign food aid and imports make up for the shortfalls.

    I am looking for an apartment today. I will walk around District 1. I may stay at a hotel for 100.000 VND tonight. I may find a room in a cheaper district. I want my own washer, free wifi, free water to drink, fridge, oven, microwave, toilet, sink, shower, bed, TV. I think that is all I need. I guess it depends on the price.     What kind of cell phone should I get? What kind of phone plan should I get? I bought a $20 American currency dollars money USD (400.000 Vietnamese dongs money VND) phone in HCM, Vietnam. It broke. My phone broke. I can't hear people when they call.

    Last year in the USA, I bought a phone for half that much money and it worked. People make less money in Vietnam. Why are phones cheaper in the USA? How are the Vietnamese able to afford phones that cost more money that are still broken at the same time. Phones in Vietnam seem to have problems. The phone plans in Vietnam seems to be expensive as well.

    In the USA, you can get unlimited texting for around $20 to maybe $100 per month. That is like 400.000 to around 2.000.000 dongs VND per month.

    The USA has unlimited calling plans between your favorite 5 people and free weekday-nights and weekends calling. But in Vietnam, I am not sure if they have any cool cheap phone plans like this. I miss the USA. I miss free water, parking, basketball, advice, friends, and other free things. I miss cheaper better things and deals. I miss capitalism. Unfortunately, the USA is becoming less capitalistic and more socialistic and communistic each day.

    I would like to find a good phone. I am still trying to get my stuff from Bac Ninh. I left a bag of my things at Papa Foods in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. I want to find a good room or hotel in Saigon, Vietnam soon too. I may want to buy a bike, scooter, sneakers, motorcycle, car, or something soon as well.

    I have been to many phone stores in Ho Chi Minh City now and I am just scared of buying another broken phone. I do not understand why the phone I bought broke and I wish that I could figure these things out. I teach English at schools in HCM. I have tons of questions still.     • Ksor Tra If you want a phone with 400,000vnd, you can buy a new Nokia with simple functions, SMS, call, receive phone call. It's good enough. VN import phones so you cannot find a better cheaper one than at USA. Unless it is a chinese one.
    • Original Oatmeal I bought a phone for 200.000 VND in the USA. That phone was fantastic. In Vietnam, I bought a phone for 400.000 VND and it sucks. That does not make sense. The USA imports their phones from places like China. USA is farther away from China than Vietnam. That means import cost more for the ships and planes to take products to the USA. But you can walk to Vietnam from China. Import should cost less. Plus, Vietnam does not need to import. Vietnam can make all of their things if they wanted to. The Vietnam government has so much money.

    These kids were given average grades. They were all given the letter B grade for the test. The dumb kids were excited to get a good grade. The smart people were upset. When the 2nd test came around, they studied less because they wanted a free ride. The smart people did not see the point and the dumb people did not see the point in studying at all. So, the average grade was a D. So everybody was given a D. For the 3rd test, things were even worse and everybody got an F because people stopped studying. This is how socialism works.     From a common sense perspective, how do people not see this for the real danger that it is? Here indisputable facts:

    1. GMOs have been banned or suspended in o0ver 20 countries.
    2. There is enough food to feed the entire world 1 1/2 times.
    3. Only US, Canada, and China continue to grow and sell GMOs without labeling.
    4. Monsanto has spent over $25 million to fight Prop 37 in California.
