Hanoi or Saigon?

Saigon, Vietnam is generically nicer than Hanoi. Specifically, the people seem nicer. That does not mean that every single person in Saigon is friendlier than every single individual in the capital of this south-east country of Asia.

 I am making generic statement that is not exact or perfect. Every person is different. Everyday is different. Every situation is different. There are factors and combinations of situations that alters and changes these results. However, generically speaking, Saigon is bigger & there are more English-students. Saigon is less afflicted by communism, socialism, tyranny, depression, poverty, hate, procrastination.

 Below are memories from my past six months in Vietnam since the 29th of November of 2012.

  • February 3
    My three month multiple Vietnam Tourist Visa expires on the 22nd of February of the year 2013. It cost around $200 USD. I do not have a lot of money right now. I only have around $400 USD right now. Some people say I can get a visa for $20 USD. Some people say it costs over $200. Some people say it costs over a $1,000. Somebody is lying. All of these prices cannot be right. I do not know who is telling me the truth.

    I have been going on every website and emailing hundreds of people and everybody is giving me different prices and lengths from $20 USD to over $1,000 for 1 month visas or 3 month visas or 6 month visas or 12 month visas or any combinations of those months and prices and I do not know who is telling the truth and who is lying to me. I do not know which website to buy a new visa from or where to renew a visa from or if I should get a 3 month visa or a 6 month visa or 12 months visa or if I have to leave Vietnam after 6 months of being in Vietnam and whether work permits are required or not. Everybody tells me different things.

      Where can I get a new laptop computer? How much money should I spend on a laptop. You can spend over $2,000 on a laptop computer. I have bought laptops for $5 before. I have got some laptops for free.

      The more you spend, the better? Maybe. Sometimes. Right now, my current laptop has a broken battery that does not charge and the screen sometimes does not work. At the moment, my laptop is plugged into the wall. Every once in a while, I have to shake my screen so I can see the stuff on my screen. It is kind of like having a really old television (TV) that you have to hit when the colors start fading.

      If I spend too much money? Then is that a bad thing? If I spend too little money, then will the laptop be too slow or breakable?

      Are you hungry? Nahhh! Which reminds me of the famous song "Nah Nah Nahhh Nahhhhh!!!! Nah Nah Nahhhhh Nahhhhhhhhhhh!!! Hey Hey hey, Goodbye." Funny because Nahhh has a double meaning. This might only be funny to me.

      Nahh means you are full in Vietnamese. It sounds like "NAHHHH." As in "NAWWWW." As in NAHHH NAHHH NAHHHHH NAAHHHHH NA NA NAHHH NAHHH HEY HEYYYYY GOODBYE. It is also a tease. Like when you are running away from somebody, you can say, "Nah nah Nahhh Na Na Nahhhhhhh, you can't catch me boo boo..... I am not your boo boo, I am not your Scooby Dooby, I am Ra Ra Roo Roo, Ra Ra Roo Roooooo!!"

      If you asked me if I am hungry, I will say Nahhhh. Whenever I say Nahhh, I will be thinking about the following 7 (BAY) things: whenever I say NAHHH to you, I will secretly be saying following to you:

      NAAHHHH MEANS

      1. FULL in Vietnamese. You cannot eat more.

      2. No Way Hosea. Negative. Are you Crazy. OMG Buddha.

      3. Na Na Noo Noo Nooo Noooo, you can't catch me loser.

      4. The Ra Ra Boo Boo Roo Roo Scooby Doo Doo Song!!!

      5. Will Smith says "Na Na Na Na Na Na, Getting Giggy With It."

      6. Nah also means who knows, as in undecided, haha.

      7. Nahhh means yes and no sometimes, haha.

      • Original Oatmeal I was not given any warnings at all. At least Facebook gives you warnings. It is like losing a job without being told why. I spent hours and hours on http://CouchSurfing.org because I want to travel the world and meet people and make the world greener with one Original Oatmeal at a time but CF had to terminate my profile for no reason. t makes me really angry that they are allow to break my heart on Valentines Day. I am like a girl. Couch Surfing is the baddest heart breaking man around. If I had a bunch of friends, I would get all my friends to march over to Couch Surfing to threaten them until they give me back what is mine.

        I gave this Couch Surfing website and social networking site $20 USD of my money or $400,000 dongs in Vietnam. I want my money back. I gave the website money to verify that I am a real person and then they tell me to hit the road jack and never come back. I want to threaten to sue them.

      • Original Oatmeal The Salvation Army fired me in 2011. I was a bell ringer. I was helping them raised money. They fired me because people reported me as spam in the same exact way as people report me as spam on Facebook, Youtube, Couch Surfing, Craigslist, Twitter, and all the other websites.

        That is the problem with complaint systems. This kind of system is close to the voting system because younger voters will vote for the wrong bills and laws and younger voters will call me spam and complain about me because they do not know any better. Some suggest that the voting age should be raised from 18 to 40. That may be better. Maybe only business owners should be allowed to vote.

        Because freedom is more a privilege and less a right. Socialism does lead into the path of communism. These two systems preach about the universal Obama health care of redistributing wealth like Robin Hood did. However, the problem is that equality of wealth eventually leads to mass poverty as the government takes up the profits due to greed, selfishness, and the dark side of the Star Wars force.

        People in Vietnam tell me that the schools there teach that the United States were trying to destroy Vietnam. However, America was trying to free southern Vietnam from socialistic and communistic Russia and northern Vietnam that were seeking to suppress Vietnam. The USA may be falling now but during the Vietnam Civil War I believe America was trying to free Saigon and the southern half of Vietnam from the northern eye of the Vietnam dragon, which includes the capital, Hanoi. It is too bad that Vietnamese are told lies about their own history.

        Centuries ago, China conquered Vietnam for almost 2,000 years and two centuries ago, France took over Vietnam. A few decades ago, Russia secretly was trying to take over Vietnam. People say America was trying to conquer Vietnam. that is not true. A few years ago, China took over some of the Vietnamese islands.

        Black-skin African American Rosa Parks refused to go to the back of the bus in the United States decades ago. She was met with severe criticism as well. White people wanted to sit in the front of the bus. Parks took a stand against what was wrong. I am doing the same. I understand that I am risking my life but I do not want to be selfish. I want to sacrifice my life for the sake of others.

      I just paid $400,000 dongs (Vietnamese money which equals to $20 USD American currency money) for a hotel in Hanoi. I am at the hotel motel room place of Nha Nghi: Mioh Hong or Minh Hong on Ngo 604 Truong Chinh, of the city Hanoi of the country Vietnam, on this Saturday, the 9th of the month February of the year 2013.

      I paid $10,000 (50 cents USD) dongs for a small glass of plain tea today.

      In the next few hours I will try to make a decision on where I might go next in my life. I cannot afford to stay in a hotel every night. I was walking around Hanoi with two heavy bags for the last few hours today. I decided to stop walking. I am now very exhausted from a long day. Monday is my birthday. I think the bus is the cheapest way from Hanoi to Saigon. I might have to leave Vietnam to make a new visa.

      My cell phone is broken.

      I almost paid $400,000 dongs ($20 USD) for a new cheapest phone that one store had but it did not have any of my saved phone numbers or messages on it. The numbers and messages are still on my broken cell phone that does not receive power. Last week, I fell in the rain and my phone fell out and lost power. The battery works in my old phone. My old phone only works in America. My new phone does not turn on.
